Last week at the Office 2.0 conference, Sam Lawrence (Jive’s CMO) moderated a panel on Enterprise Social Software adoption. Panelists were from EMC, Chordiant and Disney (full disclosure – all three are Jive customers)
Each panelist shared their experiences around launching a collaboration platform within their organization. The session was filled with stories and best practices on a variety of subjects, including ROI, adoption strategies, governance, common deployment obstacles, and business drivers.
Some interesting facts from the panel:
• With over 14,000 registered users, EMC has never had an issue with inappropriate use of the platform
• Chordiant’s community has allowed them to be much more agile – quickly collecting customer feedback and accelerating development cycles
• Disney sees their collaboration platform as significantly more controlled than email
• EMC enabled their Sales team by establishing a dynamic competitive wiki in place of blast emails that quickly got lost or didn’t stay relevant
• Before implementing a community platform, over 3% of Disney’s daily internet traffic was to sites like LinkedIn, Facebook and MySpace
